Hey there, it’s been a while since I last posted a blog article, but let me tell you, 2023 has been one heck of a busy year so far! With so much happening, finding time to write has been a challenge, but I’ve received requests to share my adventures, so here I am, ready to update you on all the exciting things that have been going on in my life.
New Home, New Beginings
First things first, we made a big move! We said goodbye to city life in Edmonton and embraced country living on our acreage property near Vimy, Alberta. With just about 150 people in this small town, Miranda and I have fallen in love with the peace and tranquility it offers. We’ve even added some chickens to the mix and have plans to welcome a cow in the fall. Managing the property and renovating our 1950s house has been quite the task, but we’re making progress. To become more involved in the community, I’ve taken on roles as President of the Lions Club and the Legal Chamber of Commerce, an honor and a responsibility I’m excited about.I took initiative in local politics, actively engaging with the community, knocking on doors, and emphasizing the importance of voting. I even had the opportunity to work on political campaigns and meet some of our local MLA’s!
Nature's Bounty and Faith Renewed
Living amidst nature has been a true blessing. From mushroom picking to fall hunting, I’ve discovered a love for activities that keep me close to the Earth. It’s become evident to me that more people should step away from the hustle of big cities and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation. Speaking of which, attending The Father’s House church has been a game-changer for us. The sense of community and spiritual growth we’ve experienced has been inspiring. In fact, attending the Foundations course through Fusion Canada has deepened our faith journey. It’s a decision I’d recommend to anyone seeking a closer relationship with God.
Making an Impact Through Non-Profit Work
I’m passionate about giving back, and my work with the Autism Society Alberta has allowed me to do just that. Our focus on helping people with disabilities access essential financial tools, such as Disability Tax Credits and Registered Disability Savings Plans, has been rewarding. Given my personal connection with two brothers with special needs, this cause hits close to home. Working with a non-profit ensures we can provide genuine support and assistance without any hidden agenda. Empowerment through WFG Convention
One of the most life-changing experiences this year was attending the WFG convention in Vegas. Learning from industry experts like Ed Mylett and Brendon Bouchard left me feeling empowered and motivated. They reminded me that achieving dreams is not only fulfilling for ourselves but also for those whose lives we touch along the way. Being part of a community that encourages big dreams and aspirations is truly invigorating. Ed Mylett’s words, “Getting to your dreams is 1 million times better than you think it will be. There are the dreams you have right now, the dreams you didn’t even know you had that can come true, but most importantly the dreams of the people you haven’t even met yet, that you can make happen. Sometimes you can help someone who isn’t even born yet achieve those dreams.” this resonated deeply with me, reminding me that our actions and intentions can create positive ripples, impacting lives even beyond our own generation. It’s not cheesy to dream big; in fact, it’s essential when you’re surrounded by a culture of winners seeking greatness.
Embracing the Journey Ahead
In between all these incredible experiences, there have been many more noteworthy moments. I promise to keep you updated and dive deeper into various aspects of my life in future blogs. I’ll be sharing financial tips, industry insights, and stories that can positively impact your personal life.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I’m excited to be back on track with my blogs and to connect with you all regularly. Remember, together, we can make a difference and create a positive ripple effect that reaches far beyond our own lives. Let’s embrace our dreams, support each other, and make 2023 a year of growth and impact!
